Introduction To Hair Removal

People have unwanted hair growth for many reasons. It can be genetic, due to ethnic background, or because of hormone imbalances. Whatever the reason, unwanted hair can be treated and can either be permanently removed or the growth significantly reduced, depending on the method of treatment that is chosen. Everyone should wake up in the morning feeling great about who they are. Not having to worry about unwanted hair in places that it should not be is an excellent way to start feeling great.

ELECTROLYSIS

Electrolysis is the only form of hair removal that has been classified by the FDA as permanent. It is also the only form of permanent hair removal that has been proven to work on all skin and hair types and colors. Permanent removal is achieved through a series of treatments over the course of approximately one year.

Electrolysis is a good choice for small areas like upper lips, eyebrows, and if you are fighting with a few pesky chin hairs. It is the only choice for people with very light colored and grey hair.

LASER

Laser hair removal is categorized as permanent hair reduction. However, most clients see excellent results with the majority of unwanted hair being eliminated. Approximately four to six treatments, on average, are needed to achieve desired results.

Hair and skin type and color do have an effect on treatment. Laser hair removal is most effective on people who have light skin and very dark hair because the laser beam is designed to target the pigment, or melanin, in the hair. Those who don't have light skin but have very dark hair are also potential candidates for laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is not effective for white, blonde, or gray hairs. A spot test is performed prior to treatment to determine the best setting level for your skin and hair type.
